Spears 466 Series PVC Clamp-On Saddle with Buna O-Ring, Zink Bolt, Schedule 40, White, 2" IPS OD x 3/4" Socket

This Spears clamp-on saddle pipe fitting, in white, with a Buna-N O-ring seal and zinc plated bolts is made of schedule 40 PVC and has an IPS saddle fitting and a socket branch connection. This two-piece saddle pipe fitting clamps onto the pipe, and is secured with adhesive (not included) and bolts (included), to create a branch connection with one outlet. The Iron Pipe Size (IPS) saddle sits over a hole that has been drilled into the pipe to create the new outlet and the outlet is sealed with a buna-nitrile (also called Buna-N) O-ring. Buna-nitrile has high tensile strength; abrasion, tear, and compression set resistance; and compatibility with a variety of fluids such as petroleum and hydrocarbons. The saddle clamp bolts are zinc-plated carbon steel for strength and resistance to corrosion. The branch outlet has a female socket connection for sliding over the end of a male pipe or fitting, which provides a smooth bore for enhanced flow. This schedule 40 (standard wall) fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal. It is compatible with schedule 40 PVC pipes and fittings. PVC can be connected to other materials such as steel, copper, or cast iron using transition fittings. This fitting provides superior flow to metal because of its smooth interior finish, which reduces friction and inhibits buildup of materials. It has a maximum operating pressure rating of 235 pounds per square inch (psi) at 73 degrees F. This fitting complies with National Sanitation Foundation International (NSF)/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 61 Annex G, NSF/ANSI 372, and conforms with lead content requirements for “lead free” plumbing as defined by California, Vermont, Maryland, and Louisiana state laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act due to take effect January 2014.
