Product Description Scotch Detectable Buried Barricade Tapes 400 Series are nominal 5-mil tapes, constructed of a solid aluminum foil backing with a clear film laminate. The aluminum backing helps make underground assets easier to locate when using a non-ferrous locator. These tapes are color-coded to meet or exceed the industry standards, including the American Public Works Association (APWA). RoHS Compliant. From the Manufacturer Scotch® Detectable Buried Barricade Tape 406 helps make locating underground electrical installations easy. The tape is buried 12” to 24” below the ground and a safe distance above the buried electrical lines. An aluminum backing makes underground installations easier to find when using a non-ferrous locator. If the tape is unearthed, the words “CAUTION BURIED ELECTRIC LINE BELOW” printed in black on a red stripe provide an additional warning.
