I bring over 17 years of experience as an educator, program developer, and administrative professional, with a strong foundation in healthcare, immigration services, and adult learning. My career has given me the opportunity to teach and mentor students in diverse fields such as medical office administration, pharmacy assistants, and medical laboratory sciences, while also supporting newcomers to Canada through my previous work with a Federal Government Department. My background as an instructor and program director at CBBC Career College allowed me to design and deliver courses in anatomy, medical terminology, pharmacology, billing, and communication skills, as well as supervise student practicums. I also taught resume writing, interview preparation, and computer applications with the Native Council of Nova Scotia, helping learners build confidence and practical skills for their careers. These roles strengthened my ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs, create engaging learning environments, and provide mentorship that bridges education with real-world application. In my previous role as a Program Assistant, I gained extensive experience processing and quality-assuring immigration applications, building expertise in attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity in service. My work reinforces the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional communication in high-pressure environments. As a mentor, I focus on helping individuals—especially students and newcomers—navigate career transitions, build job readiness, and develop the confidence to succeed. With experience in both education and government, I provide practical insights on professional development, workplace communication, and lifelong learning. I am passionate about empowering others to achieve their goals and adapt to new opportunities with resilience and focus.
