Overview

I am a dedicated community recreation professional with over 10 years of progressive experience in municipal recreation and youth development. I have held a wide range of leadership roles including Youth Outreach Worker, Community Recreation Programmer, Special Event Coordinator, and Facility In-Charge. My work has spanned recreation programming for preschoolers, children, youth, and adults, as well as community engagement, program evaluation, and frontline operations. I bring a strong foundation in both health sciences and psychology, with a passion for using recreation as a vehicle for empowerment, equity, and inclusion. As a mentor, I focus on supporting students, new graduates, and aspiring community leaders who wish to pursue meaningful careers in municipal recreation, youth services, or community engagement. I’ve guided dozens of staff, youth, and volunteers through recruitment, leadership development, and job readiness programming. My experience also includes working with diverse communities—engaging Indigenous youth, newcomers, youth from equity-deserving groups, and those impacted by systemic barriers. I offer mentees practical support in understanding job roles within the public sector. I help mentees develop resumes that reflect municipal expectations, prepare for interviews, and map out a career pathway within the parks and recreation sector. I bring both strategic insight and frontline experience. My mentorship style is supportive, honest, and results-oriented. I help mentees align their passions with community needs, set clear goals, and take actionable steps toward careers that make a lasting impact.
